The French Embassy’s Cooperation and Culture Service and the French Institute promotes and supports cooperation between French and Latvian universities, providing information about study opportunities in France, as well as financing travel.
- French experience for Latvian administrative bodies
The French Embassy’s Cooperation and Culture Service has developed a high level programme of visits by French experts to provide support to Latvian administrative bodies, in implementing the higher education reform process. The goal of the programme is to introduce partners to the quality, features and opportunities of the French higher education system, and where necessary, to adapt these to the Latvian education system.
Mention should be made of the visit by a representative of the French Engineering Degrees Allocation Commission, who introduced some of the methods for preparing engineering specialists in France, as an example. This visit was part of a programme to exchange experience between the French and the Latvian ministries of education. Representatives from universities and the Rectors’ Council take part in these visits.
