Studies in France
Higher education in France and its diverse nature
France’s higher education is very diverse allowing students to choose what suits them best.
Students can apply to one of 83 state universities which offer studies in all disciplines.
Specialized study programmes such as those in art and architecture, and even non-traditional medicine, are possible at some institutes of higher education.
All of the universities in France operate according to the European three cycle system: bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. All diplomas recognized by the French state have equal legal status.
