Elizabete Balčus & Zane Zelmene @elizabetebalcus @zane.zelmene
Elizabete Balčus experiments with flute, voice and various electronics to design a psychedelic and ecstatic experience that is rich in texture and unpredictable in its performance. She incorporates some avant-garde elements and her own body as an instrument. Drawing influences from surrealism, theatre and juxtapositions of different music genres, Elizabete’s live performance leaves the listener in a blissed out trance like state, somewhere between the waking and sleeping.
For what will be a French Institute exclusive, Elizabete will have specially curated visuals, by new media artist Zane Zelmene, to accompany music performed from her new album, Hotel Universe. Expect an immersive multi-sensory experience and witness the symbiotic relationship between two of Latvia’s most intriguing artists
Fiņķis & PRAGAII @finkis_h @praga_music
Hip hop musician and lyricist Fiņķis with his live band - Aleksis Luriņš, Andris Strazds and Krišjānis Bremšs - will perform both songs from the album "Such Sloth", released in April, created together with the experimental pop duo "PRAGAII" (Kashuks and Aleksis Luriņš), and musically rich versions of Fiņķis' early compositions. Finkis' live performance is characterised by "grand" guitar parts, electronic music experiments, as well as hip hop elements from different eras.
A special thanks to Zane Priede for the graphic design of this evening, inspired by the French painter Henri Rousseau and our beautiful historic building! @zane.priede
